HP M1005 Error B0601, B0602, B0603, B0604, or B0605 displayed during printer initialization
The printer cannot boot up to the ready state and displays an error message on the control panel. The error codes include: B0601, B0602, B0603, B0604, and B0605
Root Cause:
The problem occurs due to a firmware crash. This can result from improper actions, such as powering off the printer during a critical firmware update, which may corrupt the firmware and prevent the printer from booting properly.
Solution 1:
Run the Firmware Update Utility to repair the corrupted firmware and restore normal printer operation.

Steps:
- Power on the printer. Ensure the printer is fully booted before proceeding.
- Connect the printer to your PC via USB.
- Run the HP LaserJet M1005 Firmware Update Utility.

- Click the "Send Firmware" button to begin the update process.
Solution 2:
Manually reprogram the firmware chip with a CH341A programmer to fix the boot error and restore functionality.

Steps to Flash Firmware Using CH341A Programmer
- Power off and disconnect the printer.
- Disassemble the printer and remove the logic board.

- Connect the U7 chip to the CH341A programmer.
- Open the CH341A Programmer software on your PC.
- Identify the chip model (SmartChip) in the software.(Ensure correct selection to avoid flashing errors.)
- Load the downloaded BIN firmware file.
- Click “Write” or “Program” to flash the firmware onto the chip.
- Once complete, verify the write operation, then reattach the chip to the logic board.
- Reassemble the printer and power it on.
